A dream before sleep
or a lapse in place,
Venice, the path
to the piazza,
under our feet
a watery moon,
we were lost but
didn’t care,
we had no place
to be, and all
the gondolas were
moored, only now
does that seem
prescient.

Been lost in Venice in happy times too.

speaking of birds…I am awaiting your first Seahawks poem. you only have a couple weeks to write it…and after that it will be another lost thing…[patriots fan sez].

Ha! I am still completely dumbfounded by that game. I don’t know what team showed up for the first 3.8 quarters, or just what they sacrificed to the football gods to pull off those last few minutes… going to be an interesting game for sure. Maybe we’ll get a first down in the first quarter! Or not. Obviously it won’t matter, football gods and all 🙂

I agree, your imagery is magnificent. It gives a– vividly vicarious spirit with relatively few words
