Late morning city view
the cranes at angled rest

everything now begins with
that used to be that was

and will be
something new

strange
to know the work

it takes to see
the progress day

by day
but the act

of creation is never
not a surprise—

even while
mired in it.

I sort of got confused at the lines “that used to be that was” because of the lack of punctuations. But I read it again and finally understood (I’m slow lol) I thought that part was beautiful actually. Very thoughtful. Your words hit home. They’re tearing down the old house that I grew up in. Preparing it for it’s demolition, my heart aches each time we pass by that place. Lovely poem anyways, sorry my little ramble. xD
