A granite morning
stony-faced
the construction pit
eroding away
like confidence
seeming to say
there’s nothing much
that is guaranteed
to stay
.
no birds no rain
no breeze
just two trees
that seem somehow
fake, given their present
surroundings
This is the kind of poetry I like, written in not some alien language and understandable.

Thank you! I would agree that there’s a lot of poetry out there that is needless difficult and opaque

Yes there is. I was so low on morale after a few such reads, that I thought I shouldn’t even try writing. I couldn’t understand a word. But your poetry is classic and gives hope. Keep up the good word. 🙂

The ending made me chuckle. 😀 A pleasure to read, as always 🙂
