Funny how an absence
can feel so weighty. Of course
I still breathe,
but the air is rarer,
and I turn a little blue
from time to time.
Is there a word
for the echo
of an embrace?
I swear, I can still
feel it in my arms
on nights like these,
starless
and wakeful,
resting like a chill
for as long as I can keep it.
This is really nice. “the echo of an embrace”. Terrific.

The fact that Len wrote what I should have written before I wrote it is proof that I was right, even though I didn’t write it. Beautiful stuff.

You have wisdom. At seventy I have seen the flight of many a pal or gal disappear into the fade of a memory.

Every once in a while you get a break. It comes from hard work or out of the blue. Having someone to share it with is the ultra break.
